Dental bonding is a non-surgical treatment that uses a composite resin to correct minor imperfections like discoloration, small gaps, or chipped teeth. The treatment is painless, and you will not need anesthesia.
The Atlanta cosmetic dentist will apply an etching agent to your tooth to roughen it and prepare it for the resin. The dentist will then apply a thin coat of plastic to the front of the tooth followed by the resin itself. The dentist will mould and colorize the resin so it will blend in with your tooth. He or she will then use a high-intensity laser to harden the resin.
Dental bonding takes a few hours. With good dental hygiene, the results can last for up to seven years.
What Are One-Visit Crowns?
One-Visit Crowns are crowns made by a CEREC (Chairside Economic Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics) device. It uses CAD/CAM technology that includes a camera, computer, and milling machine to make crowns and other restorations right in the dentist’s office. The dentist will simply take pictures of your teeth and use the technology to design and fabricate the crown. The completed process takes only one visit.
What Are Dental Implants?
Dental implants are a type of restoration used to replace a missing tooth or several adjacent missing teeth. It consists of a titanium post that looks like a screw and a crown or other type of artificial tooth. The screw is actually an artificial tooth root that will be placed in your jawbone. After the screw fuses with your jawbone, the Atlanta cosmetic dentist will place the crown on top of it.
